Saeed Al Dhaheri joined TAQA in 2014 and was appointed acting chief operating officer in June 2016. Al Dhaheri was previously executive vice-president business support with the responsibility for TAQA’s human resources, health and safety, information technology, procurement and general services functions. During this time, he led the company’s global restructuring project that contributed to significant savings and nearly doubled the number of UAE nationals in HQ-based roles. Prior to joining TAQA, Al Dhaheri held leadership positions at Abu Dhabi Media Company, Etihad Rail and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and he previously served on the United Printing & Publishing Board of Directors. Al Dhaheri holds a master’s degree in management from Abu Dhabi University and bachelor’s degree in international business from Eckerd College in the United States.
Mohammed Al Ahbabi joined TAQA in January 2016 as Deputy CFO and was appointed Acting CFO in September 2016. He is responsible for TAQA’s corporate finance function. Mr Al Ahbabi started his career at Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO). He joined Abu Dhabi Ambulatory Healthcare Services Company (SEHA) in 2009 where he held the positon of CFO before joining TAQA. Al Ahbabi holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and banking from United Arab Emirates University and an MBA from New York Institute of Technology.
Awad Al Ketbi joined TAQA in 2014 and was appointed acting executive vice-president in June 2016. He is responsible for TAQA’s human resources, health and safety, information technology, procurement and general services functions. Mr Al Ketbi was previously Chief Technology Officer responsible for TAQA’s information and operations technology initiatives across the Company’s global operations. Prior to joining TAQA, Mr Al Ketbi held IT leadership positons at Tawazun Economic Council and Tawam Johns Hopkins Hospital in Abu Dhabi Emirate. Al Ketbi holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the American University in Dubai.
Saeed Rashed Al Darei is Executive Vice-President Government Affairs and Corporate Communications. He directs the Company’s public affairs and corporate communications activities including all high-level relations with the governments of all countries in which TAQA has operations. Mr. Al Darei is also responsible for the company’s investor relations and dealings with regulatory authorities related to its public listing on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. Before joining TAQA in 2013, Mr. Al Darei held leadership positions at Abu Dhabi government entities including the Department of Social Services and Commercial Buildings (DSSCB), the Department of Municipalities and Agriculture (DMA), the Department of Transport (DoT), and the Department of Civil Service (DCS). Mr. Al Derei holds a bachelor’s degree in management, sociology and leadership from Gonzaga University in the United States.
Abdelmajid Iraqui is responsible for managing TAQA’s global power and water businesses. He is also the Managing Director for the African businesses which include TAQA Morocco, a listed company in the Casablanca Exchange and Takoradi International Company, a power plant in Ghana. Mr Iraqui joined TAQA in 2006 from CMS Energy where he held different positions from 1999 to 2006 ranging from Business Development Analyst to Chief Financial Officer and Regional Director, overseeing the company’s operations in South America, Australia, the Middle East and Africa. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Eastern Michigan University, a master’s in business administration from University of Michigan and received the executive management program certificate at Sloan School of Management at MIT, in the United States.
Vivek Gambhir joined TAQA in 2011 as Deputy General Counsel and was appointed as Acting General Counsel with effect from 1 October 2015. Prior to joining TAQA, Mr Gambhir was in London for 12 years and was a partner at an international law firm where he headed their international power practice. Mr Gambhir has worked in a number of jurisdictions on various international assignments. Prior to London, Mr Gambhir was in Hong Kong before moving over from India. Mr Gambhir is a British national and holds qualification to practice law in England.
